Skype Room

Welcome to the Internet Business Connectionsâ„¢ Skype Room – A Discussion Group for entrepreneurs who have questions about, or an interest in WordPress and Blogging, Internet Security, Website Technology, and Internet Marketing.

In order to provide the best experience for all users, I ask that you please provide a short profile about yourself so we can get to know you better. You will not be allowed into the room until you do so.

Please provide information such as your professional and technical background, and your experience with internet marketing or web development.

Also, be sure to read and follow the guidelines listed below…

( Please note that you will not be granted access unless you provide a brief introduction in the comment section below )

This is the perfect place for us to gather in an informal setting to explore technical and intenet marketing issues for our online businesses.

Following in the footsteps of my coaches and mentors, I am focused on helping you and other visitors to understand and shift into the entreprenerial mindset.

Being an Electrical and Software Engineer as well as a Private Tutor by trade, when we delve into the technical issues of computers, blogging, and internet marketing, we do so in a way that you are more likely to understand and to be able to implement for yourself. This is a place where you can get the assistance you need with whatever questions you might have. I am also part of a larger network of business professionals, so if I can’t answer your questions, or if you simply want to socialize and network with others, please join us.

The IBC WordPress Skype Room is a Support, Mastermind, Accountability, and Technical Discussion group all rolled into one. If you want to build a viable web presense for yourself or your company and you want to generate a sustainable online income, this is the place to be.

If you are a beginner OR an expert, you are welcome to join us. There is no cost or obligation, and you are free to leave if you decide to do so.

In order to provide the best experience for all of us, I would like to suggest some simple guidelines for all participants:

  • We are all here to share ideas and resources, get to know one another, ask for help when we need it, give it when we can, AND be productive.
  • No blatent advertising. Affiliate links should be used sparingly since many of us will be promoting the same products. Feel free to ask people if they have an affiliate link before you buy something.
  • Do not come into this room if you intend to simply harvest contacts to add them to your network marketing or MLM list and then blast them with offers. If on the other hand you see someone with a common interest with whom you’d like to network, then by all means feel free to connect with them.
  • Discussion of Black Hat techniques should be avoided in this room. Feel free to go to a side room for such discussons. Black Hat is defined as anything that would get your site de-indexed or keywords de-ranked if Google found out, or that you would not proudly discuss with Matt Cutts, or the owners of Google. Hey, I’ll even discuss these things with you, just not in this room.
  • Respect people’s trust and do not run with their ideas without first informing them that you would like to do so. This room is meant to be place where we can assist and collaborate with one another. That won’t happen if we have to worry that our ideas will be borrowed or stolen. On the other hand, I really have no control over what others will do, so do be somewhat cautious.
  • It is NOT ok to take information posted in this room and post it somewhere else without asking first. In other words, assume it is not ok unless you ask.
  • Controversy should be limited. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Go to a side window to resolve issues, but ask for assistance if you want or need it. Being able to resolve conflict is a great way to build meaningful and enduring relationships, and sometimes a moderator can be of assistance.
  • Work hard, stay focused, drink plenty of fluids, AND get up and stretch every two hours or so, and have fun!

In order to provide the best experience for all users, I simply ask that you please provide a short profile about yourself so we can get to know you better.  Also, be sure to read and follow the guidelines listed above.

( Please note that you will not be granted access unless you provide a brief introduction in the comment section below )

Please provide information such as your professional and technical background, and your experience with internet marketing or web development.

I like this Jerry. I like that you did a post on your blog and a link to it in your Skype room guidelines (blue box at top of the Skype room). I like all that you said in the post and in your comment too. When I am more rested … and find the strength to make a new vision for my direction, I hope I come back here to answer in more detail your questions. I must rest and restore now … love and give to myself to regain my strength and I thank Kim Emerson for helping me see how much I need to do this. You actually Jerry were somewhat instrumental in me becoming aware of her. Thank you. She is a Gem!

May I suggest that you bring this to people’s attn in you Skype room periodically… ask them to respond to the questions in the comments.

I do think a Forum would be great … and wonder if we should all have a big Skype room users forum… for all of us to gather (our thoughts) in.

PS … Katherine Reschke and I have started a Google Calender for Skype Room events and coordination. Will be posted to my blog soon.

    Hi Jerry,

I really love the way you have your guidelines organized – it’s clear and concise and easy to read and understand! Guess that’s the “tutor” side in you coming out!

Thanks for the reminder to get up and dance every 2 hours – we all tend to get “tied up” and focused on what we are doing at the computer and when we do finally stand up, ooooh, the bones do creak! I thank you sincerely for that reminder. The water tip is also good – none of us drink enough and it’s a great start to healthy living!

Thanks again, my friend. Stay well, warm and happy – your posts and guidelines are very helpful and I, for one, appreciate your willingness to help us all understand what we are doing in this internet world. Everyone has a place, some of us are having trouble finding it!

    Yours in networking,
    Carol Deckert

    Hi Jerry,

I really appreciate the opportunity of speaking with, you and Denise, in the BXM Lobby this morning. I look forward to ongoing association with both of you as we apply our efforts to developing our niches and providing support to each other. Everyone has their way of how they choose to provide support to associates. I have chosen to provide a platform that will allow anyone to bring exposure to their business through an on-line mall environment.

The wordpress, Internet security, and computer skills are a wonderful combination and will be of assistance to many; I feel that you have a winning combination service. Imagine walking into a real mall and seeing a store with the title WordPress, Internet Security, Computer Skills. People who are on the Internet, like we are, would more than likely come in your local store to speak to you and check out your service. Well the same principal applies to exposing what you are offering at, BizXpoMall. This mall is designed to help those who want real-live interaction and to meet with like-minded associates who may be seeking what you are offering. This is your chance to interview who you are planning to do business with.

I always say that it is really a good thing when multiple people are presenting the same type of business. Having a choice of who to have business connecitons with, definitely, has its benefits.

I would like to, again, offer that you bring your niche to the mall and get exposure that way. Get back with the person who referred you to BXM. Hope to see you establish your presence at the mall. Chat soon.

I guess I should finally leave a profile comment! :)

I came online in 2001 because I could no longer work outside the home due to Fibromyalgia. I created a Giftshop that has taken me on so many adventures and ultimately “My Healing”!

I have 2 websites – one is my Giftshop which now has a Blog and one is my Personal Story. God or “My Higher Power” – however you wish to think of it – urged me to create “My Journey Home” as a Healing Exercise. This has been so helpful to me and has brought people into my life that I am so Grateful for who have helped me along this journey of Healing.

    http://GiftsOfEnchantment.com

My Giftshop and Blog are evolving into New Age Healing concepts along with keeping an online journal of my Healing adventure. The Giftshop offers many unique gifts and Handcrafted items from online Crafters around the world.

I just LOVE your room Jerry – the people are so professional and VERY helpful! Thank you ALL for your friendship and support! :)

  • 13 Joe Cheray (aka: wildheart4vr) // Jan 18, 2009 at 10:54 am

It’s about time I posted my intro for Jerry and the rest of the folks in his Skype room so here it goes.

INTRO: My name is Joe Cheray and my pen name on the net is wildheart4vr or similar variations of it. I have been online since 1998, my first thing I mastered was setting up an email account and after that well let’s just say the rest is history.

Quite by accident mind you I developed a knack for digital design and I also picked up several useful internet skills with my focus on figuring how to get the most out of the internet and the various prominently used sites out there. Thus my blog Wildheart’s Work’s evolved over time from an experimental venture further into the internet to a combination of digital design and internet how to pieces.

In respect to digital design I focus primarily on providing information on and designs made with Paint Shop Pro. I have version 9 so that is the one that I share my knowledge about with my readers. Also since I use Firefox almost exclusively I have decided to focus this year on showing folks how to maximize this awesome browser to make their internet usage more fun and productive as well.

You are more than welcome to check out my blog at http://www.WildheArtsWorks.com and please feel free to leave some comments on the articles that you felt compelled to check out.

    Have a great day.

  • 14 Zeb Olsen // Jan 18, 2009 at 11:19 am

Hi all, I’m Zeb Olsen, I am an Entrepreneur involved in online marketing and MLM. I live in Michigan, went to Michigan State (Die Hard Spartan Fan) and since have made a career online.

Jerry, I Love the guidelines, structure, and organization of this chat. This will prove to be a very beneficial learning experience for all involved.

I have a wordpress blog at http://www.ZebOlsen.com so I am always interested in learning about new plugins, features, and functionality in regards to wordpress.

I am also just getting into video marketing, and so any topics in relation to tools, tips, strategy and tactics using video is likely beneficial to all. My YouTube channel is http://youtube.com/zebolsen all feedback, comments etc. are greatly appreciated (be honest).

Social networking is always of particular interest as well, especially in regards to special applications which can leverage time and experience.

Also, very interested in technology, and tools that we can utilize to better our online marketing experience. Here are two tools recently introduced to me that come to mind as an example of valuable contributions in this area: 1. http://www.ScreenToaster.com is a free online Screen Recording application, very cool. 2. http://vtubetools.com is a free online application that will enable you to embed YouTube vids without related links and such (very, very cool)

Doing a bi-weekly or a monthly conference call or webinar could be very useful, beneficial, valuable, and helpful.

I think you have a nice blog here, and could be used accordingly. If you want to start a “group” specific, could be beneficial, and attractive to others considering joining the group.

In regards to leadership, I am more than happy to assist in any way that I can.

Looking forward to learning much from this group, and contributing my share.

    Success & wHealth!

  • 17 Tripudjo Djuliarso // Apr 28, 2009 at 9:36 am

    Hi Jerry:

I have read your guidelines above in regard to this room. And I am in full agreement of what you are saying up there.

My name is Tripudjo, I am usually called Pudjo, and I am from Jakarta, Indonesia. I am a retired engineering consultant, and I am 69 yrs old. I got interested in networking and internet marketing, as well as doing online-business from home. And I started to be very serious about this aproximately 4 months ago.

Yes, I am a newbie. All theses days I have been doing online business opportunities with less or no results at all. I have spent too much time and too much money on this. It seems that, YES, one has to know the basics of the trade rather well, before one can get positive results.

Therefore, I have decided to step back and to concentrate full time and carry out my daily routines in learning “all there is to learn” about blogs, blogging and the related fields of interest. And therefore, I am happy and I feel fortunate to be introduced (by Xarah) to you and this Skype room. This is really awesome. And I think this forum is really what I am looking for.

I thank you for the opportunity to be able to be here and to participate in the sharing of all related experiences of the other participants on the subject matter.

Have a great day, take care and God Bless.
Remain healthy and be successful in all.

    Yours Truly, Peace & Respect,
    Pudjo (Jakarta, Indonesia).

  • 18 Elouise // Jul 29, 2009 at 11:44 am

I have read the guidelines and agree to them.

Hi, Coach Elouise here. So, you say, who is Coach Elouise? That’s a very good question. I used to teach school. Mostly as a substitute teacher. I loved it for 30 years! But substitute teaching has its drawbacks. I hit 60 years of age and discovered that I had no retirement pension.

I did the normal thing, went through school and was accepted at a brand new University in 1965. Simon Fraser University. Being a new school, it was an exciting place to be! We had student protests (it was the 60′s after all), exams, small classes, new equipment in all the labs, professors who wanted to change the world and inspired us to do the same!

Then, I graduated and joined the real world. Having received a B.Sc. In Mathematics with Chemistry and Physics as minors, and armed with a new teacher’s certification, I went forth to educate the masses. Now that I am teaching my first students’ grandchildren, I feel it is time for a change in pace. So, in 2007, I retired and discovered that 30 years of substitute teaching in many different school districts was not condusive to having a good pension!

Now, I am building my own pension using the internet. I educate beginning marketers, help people find multiple streams of income suited to their lifestyles, and continue learning and exploring the world from my home office. Not only am I having great fun, I am learning something new everyday and meeting the best people. Met a few not so good people, but I can ignore those few because I have made many truly wonderful friends online.

Been caught in the odd scam, had some successes, and now can say I am an independent business woman! I say it with pride! 5 years ago I did not see myself as a business person at all. It is truly amazing what you can learn and do with a little help from your friends. I would love to help you too!

I have the experience now to be able to tell if a business is likely to be a good fit or not. I have the experience now to know who can help me learn more. I took lots of internet courses on marketing. I spoke with many online marketers and tried to soak up their knowledge. I have applied the things I have learned to make a profit. I have had some failures and learned from them what not to do online. Now I can offer you the kind of help that will save you time and money in getting established online. Remember: If you think you can, then you can!

  • 19 Marj Wyatt // Jul 29, 2009 at 12:08 pm

My name is Marj Wyatt. I began my journey as a solopreneur in 1999 and have been self-employed since then. My degree is in business/computers and my passions are too long to list fully. The latter include ecology, writing, poetry, music, family, my cat, photography, technology and scuba diving … not necessarily in that order.

My professional experiences include a solid background with technology, executive management and relationship marketing acquired through years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience. I characterize what I do for income by calling myself an Internet Branding Consultant.

My business includes working with clients to help them formulate and implement their online business strategies. Because I also understand SEO, I am able to work with people to help them refine their keywords and choose those that will result in conversions which lead to list building and cash flow.

My creativity and broad thinking help people identify niches that they do not know can be profitable for them, based on their backgrounds and knowledge. It often surprises me that people want to “make money” doing things that are not based on their own interests…

I believe that we attract the clients by developing relationships with them first and that it is better to be interested than it is to be interesting. Having adopted this mindset, I find that the way “business happens” is quite magical. When I approach my contacts with sincere interest in learning more about them, this allows for expansion in any direction. Skype and Twitter have been incredible assets to my business and hav enabled me to build an international clientele.

Below are some links where we can connect or, if you are interested, you can learn more about me. I hope you will let me know how to reach you and learn more about you too because, believe me, I am interested in knowing more about you.

Hi – this is just one of my blogs and the one I have some tech issues with currently.

I would like to join the blog room.

Was recommended by Xarah, from Julie Wolf’s blogging room who is already a member I think.

I also have blogs on blogspot and looking to install WP on a personal domain at some time in the future.

Will shortly be taking a part-time college course which will include CMS, PHP, and web design with databases. This will not all be new, but will expand current web skills.

My name is Iszuddin Ismail (call me Kidino if you want).

I am very much into web designing, PHP programming and online marketing (in sequence order). I like working with WordPress and I use WordPress for anything now a days. Sometimes I even feel like doing a campaign – Let’s Build Your Website with WP! (should be good eh?)

Got WP question, you can ask me and I can help you where I can.

When it comes to online marketing, I am more into email marketing and viral marketing. I like reading things related to those. In fact most of my previous venture has been built using those strategies.

I think it’s best if you know me from what I’ve done in the past. The sums up myself pretty well.

MiniSiteGallery.com: Free Minisite Template download and blog. I have a free PHP-IPN script for digital product delivery and also a cool PHP-Javascript Countdown script in the blog. Look it up.

OptinDesign.com: This is about making your squeeze page look simple and nice and converts better. Free templates available with upgrade option.

DIYMiniSite.com: This is among my earliest projects, when I got started with Internet marketing. It has a huge resource for building minisites, templates, ebooks, videos, etc…

I am sure this is going to be a cool room. From my previous experience and my expertise, feel free to buzz me in room or private chat if you think I can help with anything.

I hope to be learning cool stuff here too, make new friends and acquaintances.
